Do you still have leftovers of fur from our previous project ? So do I! With only tiny scraps we can make pretty jewelry. This week I’ll show you how to make fur earrings and a very trendy necklace.
You’ll need:
- Scraps of fur (mine is long haired fur)
- 2 fold over crimp cord ends
- 2 french hook ear wires
- 1 ribbon clamp approx 10 mm (0.39 in) wide and a 8 mm (0.31 in) jump ring
- Chain or jewelry cord for necklace
Using a craft knife (X-Acto) – or with scissors – cut two small strips of fur each measuring approx 3-4mm (0.12-.15 in) wide by approx 2 cm (¾ in) long, making sure you don’t cut the fur hair.
Next, do the same for the necklace, but with a width of 10 mm (0.39 in), or size needed for your ribbon clamp.
Here’s the full procedure for the earrings:
- Fold the leather strip in two.
- Insert end in the crimp cord end
- Close using pliers
- Attach the ear wires
And that’s it! So easy, right ?!
For the pendant necklace, you will work just likewise, but using a ribbon clamp. Add a ring big enough to insert your necklace cord ( 8 mm (0.31 in) in my case). Finally, insert cord or chain of your choice.
Please feel free to share your pictures of the earrings and necklaces you’ll make. And have a great crafty week!
